Check out some pics of our latest build. We are converting a 2012 RZR XP4 900 into a two seat dune weapon!
I got a chance to drive the XP4 a few days before they started showing up in dealerships thanks to Jon from UTVGuide.net and fell in love with the handling and capabilities of the car. Problem is I dont need any backseats and Im not into haulin people around... so the concept was born of the XP2R build....
A quick call to Art over at Berts Mega Mall and we secured one of the first ones to roll into the dealership. We were already planning what we wanted to do and were anxious to get started on the build.
First thing to do was throw out the nets and belts and bolt on a set of paddles to shake her down. We met up with Dave From Fullerton Sand Sports for a weekend of tire testing and some serious duning. We first tried the new 14 V-Roll paddles and front tires mounted up on a set of Hiper 14X10 rear wheels and a set of 14X8 front dual beadlocks. I was only hoping they would work as good as they looked on the car!
We headed out Sat morning and I quickly realized that the V-Roll tire does not work very well on the XP4. I really like them on my Commander, and they work great on the XP2 but on the 4 seater, I just didnt like them. A quick swap out to a set of Blaster Pro rear with a full buff front on Sunday Morning and back out into the dunes. WOW, what a differrence a set of tires can make. It was like driving a completely different car. No doubt, this is THE set-up for the XP4.
After the weekend it was back to the shop for teardown and to get started on the build.....
Here are some pics up to where we are at today...
